WHEN FEAR SNEAKS IN: Genesis 3:6-10 | FEAR NOT // REV. DYLAN KELLY

In the opening message of our Fear Not series, Rev. Dylan Kelly explores the very first appearance of fear and shame in Scripture. Genesis 3 doesn’t just tell a story about sin—it tells the deeper story of how deception distorts truth, shame reshapes our vision, and fear convinces us to hide. The serpent’s half-truths sow seeds of mistrust and reframe God’s boundaries as burdens. And when Adam and Eve take the bait, their eyes are opened—not to freedom, but to shame. Instead of confession, they cover themselves. Instead of running to God, they hide. But God does not respond with wrath—He responds with a question: “Where are you?” His grace moves toward them, covering their shame and restoring the relationship. This message reminds us that God’s grace still calls us out of hiding today.
